About me

Hi, I am Neel Shah. I am 24 years old, currently living in Philadelphia, PA, USA.

I was born on the 25th of July 1988 in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India (for all those who have not heard of the name, this city is towards the North-west of Mumbai).

I received my undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering from Institute of Technology, Nirma University, India in 2010.

At this point in time I am a second year Masters student in the Embedded Systems (EMBS) program, in the Computer and Information Sciences Department at the University of Pennsylvania.

Research

My core area of interest is Sensor-based automation, Real Time Embedded Systems and Robotics. My resume should tell you much more about my accomplishments in the same field. Apart from my academics at Penn I am working as a Research Assistant in the mLab under Dr. Rahul Mangharam.

Teaching

I am a Teaching Assistant, a grader and a Sunday Review tutor at the School of Arts and Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania for Math104 since Fall 2011. I have been a Teaching Assistant for Prof. Nakia Rimmer during Fall 2011, for Prof. Jeff Jauregui for the Spring 2012 term and for Prof. Antonella Grassi for the same Math104 for Fall 2012 along with Shanshan Ding. Have a look at Shanshan Ding's course web-page For Fall 2012 I am also a grader for Prof. Jeff Jauregui for Math 312. For my grading style please refer to Teaching.

My office hours are Thursday 4:30pm to 5:30pm in DRL 3W3 (West wing, Floor 3-Room#3) for MATH312 and from 4:30pm to 6:30pm for MATH104. Due to unforeseen circumstances, if I cannot make it during this time then the entire class will be sent out an email specifying my availability.

If, after doing all this, time permits I love listening to music and grabbing some extra sleep, which if you believe me is not really what Penn lets us take ;)
