This is the course webpage for Math 501, "Differential Geometry" for the Spring 2011 semester.

    Text: "Elements of Differential Geometry" by Richard Millman and George Parker, Prentice Hall, ISBN: 0132641437.

    Homework: There will be weekly homework assignments collected each Thursday. Assignments will be announced in class and posted on the course web page. No late homework is accepted. The lowest homework grade will be dropped.

    Exams: There will be an in-class midterm exam and a cumulative take-home final exam. The midterm exam will be held on March 17.

    Grading: Your grade will be calculated as follows:
    Homework 20%
    Midterm 30%
    Final 50%

    In addition, if you have above an 80% average on homework, then your final grade will not be lower than your score on the final exam. You must take the final exam to pass the class.
