Use at least two scholarly references, and incorporate things that other students said in class. Identify a difficulty that people have with mathematics and propose a solution.
- (due Jan. 16): Write an essay that briefly answers the following questions:
- What is your major, or what majors are you considering?
- What was the last math course you had? Name a math course you enjoyed, and give a reason. Name one you didn't enjoy, and give a reason.
- Do you like math? Are you good at math?
- Do you like politics? Do you follow political events closely? What issues are of greatest interest to you?
- What made you sign up for this course? What would you like to get from this course?
